Proceedings of the meeting "Sustainable tourism: From theory to practice" organized by the Italian EIA Centre. The meeting was held in Bologna (Europolis '98), on 13 February 1998, and in Milano (Borsa Internazionale Turismo), on 25 February 1998. At the meetings were presented to local authorities, tour operators, researchers and professionals several experiences of managing tourism in small and medium municipality.

The AAA's handbook on EIA indicators is a collection of indicators structured in chapters. Each chapter concerns one environmental factor and presents, by a synoptic table, the main EIA indicators. The use of a synoptic table allows a systematic and uniform presentation of indicators of different environmental factors.

It is a small volume presenting synthetically the global framework of EIA at National and Community level. The publication is a useful document for reaching basic knowledge on EIA.

This AAA-Italian EIA Centre volume offers operators a framework of the EISs carried out at the end of 80s and at the beginning of 90s. It contains 372 pages and is structured in 4 parts. The first part lists the contributions that were presented in five AAA annual meetings, from 1989 to 1993, grouped by 11 arguments: energy supply; waste; transports infrastructures; parks. The second part presents 22 EISs about projects not subject to DPCM 377/1988 e.g. waste incinerator, stretches of road. The third part considers EISs subject to DPCM 377/1988. It includes three sections: one for civil and public works; one for an analysis of EIS structure carried out by Environment Ministry; one for 24 selected EISs. The fourth part lists projects that were subjected to EIA in Val d'Aosta region and in autonomous province of Trento.
